A course is only as good as the content you provide us. The more relevant content that we have when designing a course, the better the outcome and effectiveness of the course.
Materials that you should provide us include:
Documents or papers
Documents, manuals or tutorials that might have already been produced on the subject matter.
Technical manuals
The original designers or manufacturers of a process or device have most likely created technical manuals and help files. These can be very useful. However make sure they contains the latest information!
Existing training Don’t overlook existing courses or training materials that have been created on the subject matter.
Help Files
With software, help files are usually available and these can be a good source for creating interactive training.
Pictures
Pictures of people performing their jobs. Not only will this give the designers a good idea of the work environment, but the pictures can be used as a guide for re-creating the work environment or as graphics in the program.
Promotion materials
Often training has to reflect the culture or mindset of an organization. Having promotional material describing the organization helps us make sure that the training matches the organization’s objectives
Working rules, guidelines or regulations.
Often there are organizational rules or regulations that must be met. These must be available for use during the design process
